18th century chest of drawersSOLD
This is an extremely heavy solid mahogany chest of drawers, from the earlier George III pieces, it is well pattined deep rich colour, oak drawer linings with chestnut bottoms.
The drawer configuration is most unusual having and extra large drawer and two slim top drawers, it is a rather a no nonsence functional piece of furniture, almost masculine in its style, reminds me of the utilitarian campaign furniture, which were heavily built for a purpose, although no real evidence of this.
size : 107cm x 48cm x 111cm high.
