Early 18th century burr walnut bureau bookcaseSOLD
This is a stunning walnut bureau bookcase 18th century, lovely domed doors, heavy plate glass hand bevelled panes, all the moulding are from walnut crossgrain, lovely quality, drawers and rails all inlaid and crossbanded, nice clean interior ( leather to follow) .
The characteristics of the bun feet and arched doors, suggest that the piece is from around 1700, or even earlier, it is beleived to be later though quite deffinatly 18th century though, having probably been modernised mid 18th century. The top carcase has had later restoration around 1900, has a newer pannelled oak back in it.
This is very much a high end piece of period furniture, the type that demand a huge premium, if you refer to the high class antique auctions youll see such items well above € 20,000,00 , these prices are very dependent on the origionality and the history, in perspective this one looks like an attractive option having the full on looks but not the high price tag!!!
