Very elegant Red walnut bureau circa 1770 with Georgian Sheraton inlays and high quality interior, with secret drawers in the pillars.
Pieces of this quality were genarally only available in the wealthier towns or in London, where they would have cost many times the price of the more provincal bureau's, note the very straight shaped bracket foot only found on the earliest George III pieces, and the quadrant edged drawers only to be found on the earlier pieces.
